One of the fastest growing areas in the country, Phoenix and its surrounding towns have spread across the desert with a determination that defies the region's hot, dry climate. Phoenix is renowned for its lush golf courses, spa resorts, and artsy, upscale desert communities.

When to visit Phoenix

With an arid, semi-tropical climate, Phoenix sees warm weather year-round. The most popular times to visit are the spring and winter, when the weather is pleasant and a variety of sporting events take place. The fall brings low prices and comfortable weather. Because of rising temperatures, the summer sees the fewest visitors. Many people, however, take trips to the high country in Northern Arizona, including the Grand Canyon, while visiting Phoenix in the summer.
